We are currently recruiting for a Senior Systems Administrator to work within one of our prestigious institutes based near Russell Square. This is a permanent position, starting ASAP.
Responsible for the day to day systems administration of all applications provided by the Digital Learning group
Provide system administration activities for the Digital Services team (both customer and internal systems). Liaising with customers and colleagues where necessary.
Record details of activities and time spent working on these activities in the service management toolset as required.
Part of key team responsible for incident management, resolution and root cause analysis across the digital learning team.
Agree a work schedule with the team manager and report progress against that schedule on a regular basis
Monitor service delivery against incident and system administration tasks, identifying service level exceptions and proposing appropriate mitigating actions.
Propose, design, develop, test and deploy tools, processes and standards that increase the efficiency or effectiveness of the Digital Services.
Provide appropriate documentation in line with University standards
Maintain an awareness of System Administration trends and pro-actively identify how evolving technology and practices can be utilised to improve the Digital Services.
To actively follow and promote the University of London policies, including the University's Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities Policy and actively promote these wherever possible.
To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations
Any other duties consistent with both the grade and scope of the postAny other duties reasonably required of the postholder by the reporting manager.

Education and Professional Qualifications
Qualification to degree level in Computer Science or related subject or with equivalent vocational experienceWorking hours - Full time - 5 days a week
